Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Departure for Greece

Begin your spiritual adventure with an overnight flight to Athens, Greece. As you embark on this journey, take time to reflect on the significance of the places you will visit and the spiritual insights you will gain.

Day 2: Arrival in Athens

Upon arrival in Athens, meet your local Sacred Travel Paths representative who will assist you throughout your stay. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure, exploring the vibrant city or relaxing at your hotel. Gather for a welcome dinner to meet your fellow travelers and receive an overview of the pilgrimage itinerary. Overnight stay in Athens.

Day 3: Athens & Corinth

Start the day with a comprehensive tour of Athens. Visit the Acropolis, home to the iconic Parthenon, the Erechtheum, and the Propylaea. Ascend Mars Hill, where Paul delivered his famous sermon to the Athenians. After lunch, travel to Corinth, where Paul preached and stayed for a year and a half. Explore the ancient marketplace, the Temple of Apollo, and the Corinth Museum. Return to Athens, stopping at the ancient port of Cenchreae, where Paul set sail for Ephesus. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Athens.

Day 4: Embarkation Cruise – Mykonos

Depart early for Piraeus, Athens’ ancient port, and embark on a cruise into the Aegean Sea. In the evening, arrive in Mykonos, known for its charming white houses, beautiful churches, and iconic windmills. Spend time exploring the island’s vibrant streets and waterfront before returning to the ship for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Cruise – Ephesus, Turkey & Patmos, Greece

Arrive in Kusadasi, Turkey, and explore the ancient city of Ephesus, where Paul preached to the Ephesians. Visit the house where Mary, the mother of Jesus, is believed to have spent her last days, and explore the extensive ruins of the city, including the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre. In the afternoon, sail to Patmos, Greece, and visit the cave where John wrote the Book of Revelation. Return to the ship for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Cruise – Santorini & Crete

In the morning, visit Heraklion on the island of Crete, where Paul met the ship’s owner before his journey to Rome. Optional excursions to the Palace of Knossos, a major center of Minoan civilization, are available. In the afternoon, arrive in Santorini, renowned for its stunning views and dramatic landscapes. Take a cable car to the town of Fira for breathtaking views of the caldera. Dinner and overnight stay on the ship.

Day 7: Athens & Thessaloniki

Disembark in Athens and transfer to Thessaloniki, a city rich in early Christian history. Visit the places where Paul lived and preached, including the ancient Agora and the Jewish quarter. Reflect on Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians, which are part of the New Testament. Dinner and overnight stay in Thessaloniki.

Day 8: Thessaloniki & Kavala

Travel to Kavala, ancient Neapolis, where Paul first set foot in Europe. Visit Philippi, where Paul delivered his first sermon in Europe and baptized Lydia, the first Christian convert on the continent. Explore the ruins of the ancient city, including the forum and the theater. Return to Thessaloniki for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 9: Thessaloniki, Berea & Athens

Journey back to Athens via Berea, where Paul and Silas were received with more open minds compared to Thessalonica. Visit the Bema of Apostle Paul, a monument dedicated to Paul’s preaching in Berea. On the way back, see the legendary battle site of Thermopylae, where 300 Spartans fought against the Persian army. Enjoy a farewell dinner in Athens, reflecting on the journey’s spiritual and historical significance. Overnight stay in Athens.

Day 10: Athens & Return to the USA

After breakfast, transfer to Athens airport for your return flight. Reflect on the spiritual growth and historical insights gained during your pilgrimage as you return home with cherished memories and a renewed faith.
