Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Departure for France
Our journey begins as we depart the USA en route to Lourdes via Paris. Complimentary meals and beverages will be served during our transatlantic flight.

Day 2 – Paris / Lourdes
Upon arrival in Paris, we transfer to our flight to Lourdes. Upon landing, we are greeted by our Sacred Travel Paths representative and make our way to our hotel. After settling in, we enjoy an orientation tour of the Sanctuary. We are welcome to join the afternoon and evening processions, including the beautiful Candlelight Procession. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes. (D)

Day 3: Lourdes: In the Footsteps of Bernadette
We begin our day with Mass at the Grotto, where Mary appeared to Bernadette. Following Mass, we take a walking tour tracing the life of Saint Bernadette. Key sites include the Cachot, the parish church, and the Boly Mill. In the afternoon, there’s time to visit the Healing Baths or join the Procession of the Blessed Sacrament. After dinner, we return to the Sanctuary for the Rosary and Torchlight Procession. Overnight in Lourdes. (B, D)

Day 4: Lourdes / Paris
This morning begins with Mass and leisure time in Lourdes for personal reflection or a final visit to the Sanctuary. Late morning, we board the TGV high-speed train for Paris, enjoying the scenic journey. Upon arrival, we transfer to our hotel for dinner and rest. (B, D)

Day 5: Paris: Rue de Bac, Notre-Dame & Sacré-Cœur
Our day begins with Mass at the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal, followed by visits to sites associated with St. Catherine Laboure, St. Louise de Marillac, and St. Vincent de Paul. Next, we visit the iconic Cathedral of Notre-Dame, followed by the Basilica of the Sacred Heart (Sacré-Cœur), which offers stunning views of Paris. Those who wish can explore Montmartre’s charming Artist Quarter before returning to the hotel on their own. (B, D)

Day 6: Paris: Excursion to Lisieux
Today we journey to Lisieux, the home of St. Thérèse, the “Little Flower.” We visit Les Buissonnets (her family home), the Basilica of St. Thérèse, the Carmelite Convent Chapel, and the reliquary of St. Thérèse. We also see the statue of the Virgin Mary that smiled at her. After Mass and time for prayer, we return to Paris for dinner and overnight. (B, D)

Day 7: Paris: Excursion to Versailles & Chartres
Our day begins with a visit to the opulent Palace of Versailles, a symbol of French art and culture. After exploring its stunning architecture and gardens, we travel to Chartres to visit its famed cathedral, known for its exquisite stained glass and rich history. After Mass and free time for browsing, we return to Paris. Dinner and overnight at our hotel. (B, D)

Day 8: Paris / Lyon / Ars
This morning, we take the TGV train to Lyon and transfer to Ars, the village of St. John Vianney, the Patron Saint of Parish Priests. We visit the Basilica housing his incorrupt body and the Chapel of Our Lady of Ars. Here, we celebrate a special Mass in honor of the priests of our diocese. Dinner and overnight in Ars. (B, D)

Day 9: Ars: Excursion to Paray-le-Monial and Taizé
After breakfast, we travel to Paray-le-Monial, where we celebrate Mass at the Church of St. Claude de la Colombière and visit the Chapel of the Visitation, where Jesus revealed the Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary. From there, we proceed to the ecumenical monastery at Taizé for midday prayer. In the evening, we celebrate a farewell dinner in the medieval village of Pérouges before returning to Ars. (B, D)

Day 10: Return Home
As our spiritual pilgrimage draws to a close, we bid farewell to the British Isles and board our return flight home. Depart from Edinburgh with cherished memories of historic sites, spiritual revelations, and the enduring beauty of England and Scotland.
