Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Departure for Egypt

Begin your pilgrimage by boarding an overnight flight to Cairo, Egypt. Prepare for a journey filled with historical and spiritual exploration.

Day 2: Arrival in Cairo

Arrive at Cairo International Airport. After passport control, meet your tour representative and transfer to your hotel in Cairo. Enjoy dinner and rest for the evening, preparing for the adventures ahead.

Day 3: Pyramids of Giza

Begin your pilgrimage with a visit to the iconic Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Explore the Cheops Pyramid, the largest of the three, and marvel at the Sphinx. Experience a camel ride by the pyramids and visit the Papyrus Institute. In the afternoon, visit the Egyptian Museum to view antiquities from Egypt’s Pharaonic period, including the treasures of King Tutankhamun. End the day at the medieval bazaars of Khan-El-Khalili. Dinner and overnight in Cairo.

Day 4: Luxor

Take an early flight to Luxor, the ancient capital of Egypt. Start your exploration with the spectacular Karnak Temple complex, dedicated to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Walk along the Avenue of Sphinxes and explore the Precinct of Amon-Re, the largest religious building ever constructed. Visit the Luxor Temple, connected to Karnak by the Avenue of Sphinxes and known for its grandeur and historical significance. Dinner and overnight in Luxor.

Day 5: Valley of the Kings

Cross the Nile to the Valley of the Kings, the final resting place of Egypt’s pharaohs. Explore one of the major tombs, such as that of Tutankhamun or Ramses VI, and admire the intricate wall paintings that depict the journey to the afterlife. Visit the Valley of the Queens, where the wives of the pharaohs were buried, including the famous tomb of Nefertari. Return to the airport for a flight back to Cairo. Dinner and overnight in Cairo.

Day 6: Optional Sinai Excursion

Board a bus early in the morning for a drive to Sinai. Journey through the desert, recounting the Exodus story, and view the towering red-granite mountains, including Jebel Musa. Visit St. Catherine’s Monastery, the oldest continuously inhabited Christian monastery, and marvel at its ancient library and the Burning Bush. Dinner and overnight at Morganland Village.

Day 7: Mt. Sinai

Begin with an optional sunrise ascent of Mount Sinai. Reach the peak to witness the sunrise and explore the traditional site of Moses’ encounter with God. After descending, tour St. Catherine’s Monastery. Travel to Nuweiba and embark on a fast ferry to Aqaba in Jordan. Meet the Jordanian guide and transfer to your hotel in Petra. Dinner and overnight in Petra.

Day 8: Petra

Spend the day touring Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Walk through the Siq to the Treasury and explore the tombs, burial chambers, and theater. Visit the Royal Tombs and the Byzantine church. After lunch, travel to Amman. Dinner and overnight in Amman.

Day 9: Mt. Nebo and the Holy Land

Leave Amman for Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land. Continue to Madaba to see the 6th-century mosaic floor map of the Holy Land. Descend to the Jordan Valley and cross the border into Israel. Visit ancient Jericho and view the mountain of Jesus’ temptation. Travel through the Jordan Valley to Beth Shean. Explore the Roman ruins and continue north to the Sea of Galilee. Dinner and overnight at the Sea of Galilee.

Day 10: Sea of Galilee

Start the day with a visit to Capernaum, where Jesus performed many miracles and taught in the synagogue. Continue to Tabgha, the site of the miracle of the loaves and fishes, and visit the Church of the Multiplication. Ascend the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Follow an ancient trade route to Tel Dan and Caesarea Philippi, significant sites in Jesus’ ministry. Drive over the Golan Heights, offering stunning views of the surrounding region. End the day with a peaceful boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, reflecting on the serene beauty of the area. Dinner and overnight at the Sea of Galilee.

Day 11: Journey to Jerusalem

Visit Nazareth, the childhood home of Jesus, and the Church of the Annunciation, believed to be the site where the Angel Gabriel announced the birth of Jesus to Mary. Explore Megiddo, an ancient city with layers of archaeological remains, and ascend Mt. Carmel, where Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal. Visit Caesarea Maritima, the ancient port city built by Herod the Great, and see the impressive remains of the Roman aqueduct and theater. Travel along the historic Beth Horon Road to Jerusalem, where you will arrive in the evening. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 12: Mount of Olives and Bethlehem

Begin with an orientation from the Mount of Olives, offering a panoramic view of Jerusalem. Follow the Palm Sunday route to Dominus Flevit, where Jesus wept over the city, and then to the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed before his arrest. Visit Peter in Gallicantu, where Peter denied Jesus three times, and Solomon’s Pools, ancient reservoirs that supplied water to Jerusalem. Continue to Bethlehem to visit the Shepherds’ Fields and the Church of the Nativity, the birthplace of Jesus. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 13: Dead Sea

Visit the Shrine of the Book, home to the Dead Sea Scrolls, and see the model of ancient Jerusalem. Travel to Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, and view Cave #4. Continue to Masada, the fortress where Jewish rebels made their last stand against the Romans, and take a cable car to the top for breathtaking views. Conclude the day with a float in the buoyant waters of the Dead Sea, experiencing its unique mineral-rich properties. Return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Old Jerusalem

Enter through the Dung Gate and examine the Ophel excavations, uncovering the ancient city of David. Visit the Western Wall, the holiest site in Judaism, and see the Dome of the Rock and the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount. Explore the Pools of Bethesda, where Jesus healed a paralyzed man, and St. Anne’s Church, known for its acoustics and beautiful architecture. Follow the Via Dolorosa, the path Jesus walked on his way to the crucifixion, leading to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the traditional site of Jesus’ crucifixion and burial. End the day at the Garden Tomb for a communion celebration, reflecting on the resurrection of Jesus. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 15: Departure

Depart Jerusalem for the airport in Tel Aviv for your flight home, reflecting on the enriching experiences and profound connections made throughout your pilgrimage.
